Accountant II/Accounts Receivable
Purpose:
The Accountant II Division performs a variety of complex accounting duties in the maintenance and review of financial records and programs, including accounts receivable, in accordance with established procedures, policies and generally accepted accounting principles. This department reports to the Finance Director.
Accountant II Duties and Responsibilities:

Reviews and audits monthly revenue and expense reports, prepares claims for payment, monitors and analyzes general ledger accounts, maintains and reconciles various accounts, etc.

Reconciles all bank statements for the general and other specific funds as assigned. Prepares sales tax reports for out-of-state vendors as required.

Manages the environmental services billings, including posting transactions, receiving and verifying detail charge reports, processing and mailing bills, following up on delinquent accounts, etc.

Coordinates accounts receivable procedures with vendors and invoicing establishments; manages all accounts for payment and follows up on all outstanding invoices for payment.

Coordinates County telephone services; coordinates services with vendors; ensures that all phones and related equipment are in good working order; maintains maintenance agreements.
