Criminal Investigations
The Criminal investigation division has 11 deputies assigned in two different locations in Darlington County. They have an office in the Darlington area at the Sheriff's Office and in Hartsville next to the magistrate's Office on 4th Street. This division investigates all crimes in Darlington County.

• Crimes against property
• Sex and juvenile crimes

Drug Enforcement
The Darlington County Sheriff's Office has joined forces with the Darlington Police Department, and the Hartsville Police Department to establish the Darlington County Combined Drug Unit. This division has 7 law enforcement officers assigned to Darlington County. They investigate all drug and vice crimes in Darlington County.

Bloodhound Teams
The Darlington County Sheriff's Office Bloodhound Team consists of 15 deputies and divided into three teams. This unit actively uses 4 bloodhounds for various situations from missing /lost persons or people that have just committed serious crimes.
