We work closely with many other County departments in planning & regulatory issues, as well as with SCDOT (the State Highway Dept.), SCDHEC (for Septic Tanks, Stormwater Mgmt, etc.) USACE (Army Corp. of Engineers), local engineers, surveyors and contractors to help coordinate the many requirements associated with land development and the issuance of development permits.

The staff also works closely with E-911 Addressing to assure proper access to and location of properties receiving an address for Emergency Response. Current projects include review & update of the Comprehensive Plan, drafting, adoption & implementation of new Stormwater regulations under the NPDES Phase II requirements and the South Darlington Watershed Drainage Project.
