“This is an incident/ fire we had March 19, 2006 that was fought for about 18 hours and the total incident time, with cleanup, lasted about 30 hours. It involved all 11 DCFD stations, 20 outside fire departments, DarCo EMS and four rescue squads, and law enforcement. The South Carolina Firefighter Mobilization Act was also utilized.”

December 3, 2005 Picture News and Press

“On December 3, 2005 Darlington County Fire District responded to a structure fire on Robert’s Drive. Four firefighters entered the house to search for victims. They were Kenny Stratton, Brad Dewitt, Shannon Hopkins, and Jason Pate. They were able to locate the victim and get him to safety where Kevin McGee provided oxygen and aid until EMS arrived. They have since been recognized by two local papers, a local TV station and County Council.”

2004 – 2005 Top Responders Picture 2004-2005

The Darlington County Fire District recognizes the top three responders each year in December. The DCFD year runs from November 1- October 31. This past year our top responder was Firefighter James Lambert from station 5 with 132 responses. Second was Station 12 Assistant Chief Charles Ingram with 125 responses. And third was Station 15 Chief Ricky Nettles with 103 calls.”
