Mission Statement:
The mission of the E-911 Address and Information Department is to maintain the most
highly accurate E-911 Emergency Phone System in the State of South Carolina. The
E-911 Department will continue to provide the citizens of Darlington County with
correct addresses, to name roads and streets, and to upgrade the 911 telephone system.
We will continue to keep up with the most modem technology available.
Functions:
Plans, develops, schedule, and coordinates all phases of the E-911 Administration
Office, which includes maintaining data base, issuing addresses, assigning of street
names, coordinating data to the postal service and telephone company.
Goals:
Prepare for and implement the Wireless Phase n process. This allows for 911 calls
to be affixed with x, y coordinates. This is extremely important in locating wireless
users. Continuing the process of verifying and confirming the correct site address
for the Tax Assessor's file.
Continue to perform daily E-911 functions (i.e., addressing, database maintenance,
GPS mapping of private roads, new subdivisions, etc.).

A. There must be two (2) or more separate dwellings down the same driveway. Also,
if the road/driveway is over 800 feet long or the structure cannot be seen from
